Miss Daviess County Rules

Kentucky Association of Fairs & Horse Shows Pageant Eligibility Requirements:

• The contestant must be a natural born female, single, never married, never had a marriage annulled, and never had any children. A birth certificate is required.
• Contestant must be 16 years of age on October 31, and cannot be 22 on October 31 of the year when local pageant is held at the local fair.
• Contestants may not compete in any other pageant system that would prohibit the fulfillment of responsibilities through the state during her reign as Miss Kentucky County Fair.

Miss Daviess County Pageant Information

• We will be crowning TWO winners this year!
• Miss Daviess County Fair will be the highest scoring contestant of the pageant, is open to residents of ANY county, and will represent the fair at Miss Kentucky County Fair in January, 2025!
• Miss Daviess County will be awarded to the highest scoring Daviess County resident, and will serve as our local titleholder.
• If the highest scoring contestant of the entire pageant is a Daviess County resident they will be crowned Miss Daviess County Fair, and the second highest scoring Daviess County resident will be crowned Miss Daviess County.
• The pageant will be held at Bittel Hall at the Daviess County Fairgrounds on Friday, June 28th.
• Interviews will start at 3pm, and pageant at 6. Interview times are subject to change pending contestant numbers.
• Due to dressing space limitations, we kindly request only one person per contestant in the backstage areas. Door entry $10 (5 and under free).
• A detailed itinerary, parking instructions, contestant numbers, stage details, etc will be emailed out following the entry deadline.

Miss Daviess County Pageant Format & Scoring

• Interview- 40%. Attire of your choice. Round robin style with 3 judges, 4 minutes per judge. Judges select their own questions, but the they do have your bio so some of the questions are likely to come from there. There could be questions on current hot topics (especially if it relates to your bio). We ask our judges not to include any controversial or divisive questions that may sway opinion based on your personal beliefs.
• Opening number- Not scored. Parade of contestants & introductions. Completed in your swimsuit WITH sarong.
• Swimsuit- 30%. One piece swimsuit, no sarong. Walking pattern of your choice. We will read from your bio.
• Evening gown- 30%. Walking pattern of your choice. We will read from your bio.
• On stage question- 10 extra points per judge for our top contestants (size of top dependent on number of entries). The question is contestant specific, we prepare ahead for each contestant based on their bio. They won’t be as simple as “tell me about…”, but they are custom made just for you- so no major surprises!

How to Enter in Two Easy Steps

1. Pay a $65 entry fee by the deadline. Venmo @Haley-London. Email me for other payment options.
2. Email your photo & the following information/questions to haleylondonberry@gmail.com by the deadline. Please enter in subject line “Miss DC” and contestant’s name. The photo goes with your bio in the judges’ books but is not judged, and does not have to be a professional headshot. Take up as much space as you would like with your answers. Don’t worry about formatting, as we will be copying everything into a standardized template for the judges’ book. Do worry about your spelling and grammar, we will not edit.
